The industry is hopeful that the new year will bring about a turn in the ongoing decline in golf participation and that the trade will be bolstered by a successful 59th PGA Merchandise Show later this month, bringing the world of golf together for business and to showcase exciting new products.
The BGIA will once again be fronting a UK exhibitor pavilion at the show, based in a central location within the golf products and services section. A business lounge is also being provided for members to utilise for any company meetings throughout the show. In addition, the BGIA assisted 15 UK SME’s in gaining £1800 UKTI export funding to help with their show exhibition costs.
Eastern promise
For 2012, the BGIA will also be taking a large UK exhibitor group to the China Golf Show in Beijing. This event has received a great deal of interest since Reed Worldwide Exhibitions became the new owners, and as in Orlando, support via UKTI funding is available to potential exhibitors.
The BGIA is looking to actively provide added value to its current membership offering, through enhancing its research dashboard provision, providing another programme of useful and free topical seminars, and hosting its annual industry networking events; the BGIA Charity Golf Day & Dinner and the Open Championship Lunch.
The BGIA is also actively recruiting new, reputable and established companies to join the association, with chairman Doug Poole continuing his commitment to attract new members year on year.
