Female appeal from Royal Albartross
Published:  08 December, 2011

British shoemaker Royal Albartross, which specialises in the flamboyant and extravagant, is launching its first range of women’s golf shoes for 2012. Retailing at £335 per pair, six women’s shoes are available initially, in UK sizes 4 to 8, and they are available at the Wentworth Club and online, with further prestige golf stockists set to be confirmed soon.

“Ever since the launch and international success of our men’s range, we’ve had women pleading with us to create a shoe as beautiful and practical for them,” says Alex Bartholomew, founder of Royal Albartross and chief designer. “It wasn’t about over-designing something new, rather updating a classic golf shoe and making it appeal to today’s stylish lady golfer. It makes sense – women love and appreciate shoes, and female golfers have had a rough ride in the past! We’ve married the best in technological innovation with the comfort required for 18 holes and cutting-edge design.”

Made from the “finest” Italian materials and featuring detailing such as a stainless steel ball marker and polished lace tips, Royal Albartross shoes are intended to give a striking, contemporary and luxurious update to traditional designs.
