FootJoy sets stable platform
FootJoy claims to have reached new levels of support and stability with its new FJ XPS-1 golf shoe
Published:  04 October, 2011

FootJoy has launched the FJ XPS-1, with the ‘XPS’ standing for ‘Xtreme Platform Stability’. Designed to be athletic, while providing exceptional support, stability and comfort, the XPS-1 is due to arrive at retail in its first colour scheme of White and Black in December, with an RRP of £195, while two more colourways are scheduled to arrive at retail in January 2012.

Key to the new shoe is its ‘Xtreme Outsole’ design, which uses lateral side ‘outriggers’ made from TPU to provide an ‘ultra-wide’ base for the shoe, for maximum ground contact during the golf swing. The XPS-1 also features a ‘Lightweight Fibreglass

Support Structure’, which should serve as a medial and lateral wrap for excellent mid-foot support.

“The FJ XPS-1 is an exciting new addition to the FootJoy family and we have taken technology prowess to an unprecedented level,” says Russell Lawes, FootJoy’s European marketing manager.

“Almost every golfer who has tested XPS-1 reported that they felt a greater sense of stability, overall controlled balance and were able to strike the ball with greater confidence.”
