Calvin Klein goes ‘Thermo°cool’
Published:  30 March, 2011

Calvin Klein Golf has become the first company to incorporate Thermo°cool technology into golf apparel, as developed by fibre specialist Advansa

Calvin Klein is launching a new base layer range as part of its Autumn Winter 2011/12 collection, featuring Thermo°cool fabric developed by Advansa. The Thermo°cool yarn has been created specifically for the sports market, with a view to regulating body temperature.

The eco-friendly Thermo°cool yarn is made with no chemical treatments, and Calvin Klein says the key to its thermoregulation performance is in a unique combination of fibres. Hollow fibres run alongside channelled fibres and the affect promises to be increased air circulation and improved moisture transport away from the body. The Thermoocool yarn is not designed to hold onto moisture, but to draw moisture to its outer layer, where it should evapourate.

“Golfers are always looking for garment technology that can help them enjoy their game more,” says Grahame Jenkins, executive director of Premium Golf Brands, the exclusive worldwide licensee of Calvin Klein Golf. “There are products that work well in the warm and those that excel in the cold. The difference is that Thermo°Cool works in every weather condition. It is a remarkable technology and will add value to our apparel line up.”
