The Czech Golf Federation reported that in 2008 there were 78 golf courses and 140 golf clubs in the country, whereas back in 1998 there were only 15 golf courses. The quality of the golf courses there has been endorsed by IAGTO, which named the Czech Republic the ‘Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year’ in 2006.
Golf imports to the Czech Republic were valued at €4.4 million in 2008, with over 30% of all golf supplies coming from the UK. Golf exports from the Czech Republic were negligible in 2008, totalling €100,000.
Overall the Czech golf apparel market is estimated to be worth €5 million annually, with major global brands such as Nike and adidas-TaylorMade being most popular.
