The leading four golf shoes of 2010 according to Golf Datatech:
1. FootJoy AQL (15.2% market share)
2. FootJoy Contour Series (7.6 %)
3. FootJoy GreenJoys (7.2%)
4. FootJoy DryJoys (7.1%)
The dominance of the AQL saw its sales outstrip the total sales for the next best-selling golf footwear brand in the UK, which accounted for 14.6% of market share.
FootJoy’s total volume market share of 56.3% was up 1.5% year on year, while its value market share was even higher, also up 1.5 % to 59.6%. Looking at on-course sales alone is even more one-sided, with FootJoy accounting for 64.5% of volume market share, and 67.4% of value market share.
“Every FJ shoe meets a need in the market place and contributes to the high demand for our products across the board,” says Mike Lucas, FootJoy’s director of sales and marketing. “From the top of the range FJ Icon and DryJoys Tour, through to the contemporary FJ Sport and best selling AQL, we have ’best in class’ products to offer golfers of all ages, abilities, budgets and tastes”.
