“Dixon golf balls are the world’s first, high-quality eco-friendly golf balls that not only perform to a high standard but also appeal to golfers who care about the environment,” says Sven Carlson, European distributor for Dixon Golf. “Eco-friendly balls are typically seen as inferior and priced at the lower end of the market – or have only recyclable packaging. So creating a ball that performs as well as – and better than – more established brands was critical in the development of the Dixon Earth and Wind balls.”
The Earth balls come with an RRP of £28.99 per dozen and £18.99 for a dozen Wind balls, and SGB Golf understands that the introduction of a Fire model can be expected in the future.
Dixon Golf is also investigating bringing an initiative to the UK that will see golfers paid a small cash sum for returning used Dixon balls for recycling. In the United States golfers are rewarded with $1 for every ball they return.
