Garia hits the streets
The Garia luxury golf car, which is manufactured in the same factory that builds the Porsche Boxster and Cayman, is now available as a street-legal LSV (low speed vehicle). Garia says the front suspension of its golf car is Formula 1 inspired, while its aluminium profiles are made by the same company that supplies Aston Martin and Jaguar. The Garia LSV is fitted with seatbelts, side mirrors and hydraulic breaks, and is legal on roads with a speed limit of 35 mph.
Fairway teams up with Els
Fairway & Greene has been appointed the official supplier for the Els for Autism fund-raising golf day, which will be hosted by Ernie Els at Wentworth at the end of June.
TaylorMade performance at Kingsfield
TaylorMade has opened its latest Performance Centre at Kingsfield Golf Centre in Linlithgow, Scotland. Designed to offer a complete custom-fitting service to consumers, the centre is equipped with Trackman ball-tracking technology.
Supporting the Seniors
Cleveland and Srixon have stepped up their support for the European Senior Tour by becoming the official tour workshop for 2010. Already joint sponsors of the Scottish Seniors Open, the joint brands are providing their tour truck to key events on the Senior schedule.
Swing for Sammy returns
The third annual Swing for Sammy golf day will take place at Muswell Hill on Friday July 30. The event is dedicated to SGB Golf contributor Paul Trow’s late daughter-in-law, Samantha Trow, who died of cancer in February 2008, aged 26. The 2010 event is supporting Cancer Research UK, Hospice in the Weald in Kent, the Royal Marsden Hospital, St Mark’s Hospital Foundation and the Seve Ballesteros Foundation. Golfers and sponsors are all welcome, with entry fees of £50 per person or £200 for a team of four.
