New range from Spherical Blade
Published: 09 April, 2010
Spherical Blade, the putter company that specialises in ‘curved face’ technology, has released six new models for 2010.
Each of the new putters is made from stainless steel with a milled clubface and gunmetal finish, and they come with the Spherical Blade eye-shaped logo positioned on the sweetspot.
Designed for golfers seeking maximum forgiveness for off-centre strikes, the twin-pronged BlackEye 2010 is one of the new models. It is made with a ‘bear claw’ design, with a view to providing increased lateral balance and weight distribution, and the 400-gram putter is fitted with an offset steel shaft.
All putters in the new line come with an RRP of £119 except for a ‘Limited Edition Classic’ half-mallet putter, which comes with a black clubhead and shaft and with an RRP of £129. All models are available in lengths from 30-36 inches, and with a choice of five grips: three Golf Pride options and two from 2Thumb.
Spherical Blade putters are designed with a North-South curve, which is intended to ensure that contact with the ball is always above the mid-point of the clubface, with a view to imparting a controllable topspin roll on the ball, and to negate skidding. A gentle East-West convex curve on the clubface is deigned to increase the size of the sweetspot.
