What has been your greatest success over the past 12 months?
It has to be SkyCaddie. GPS on the golf course was initially laughed off, but now everyone is getting this help. In my opinion, SkyCaddie has the best product and it is the most exposed product on the market. Unfortunately, course guide sales are almost non-existent, but as long as my members buy their SkyCaddie from me I am happy.
What supplier initiative has been successful recently?
The best supplier initiative of 2009 was from PowaKaddy: £50 off the new FWII trolley, and a Deluxe II cart bag for half price. This was perfectly timed for Christmas and helped me drive a few extra sales for the end of the year.
What is the biggest challenge for your shop over the next 12 months?
It is the same as always: convincing my customers they should buy from me. It is about giving the best service possible at the best price possible. I believe if you are consistent with everyone and offer a five-star service, the sale will always follow.
