New Skins for golf
Published:  19 February, 2010

Innovative Australian clothing company Skins has launched its first range of base layer clothing designed specifically for golf.

Due for retail delivery by the end of March, Skins’ G400 range features seven garments with ‘dynamic gradient compression’, which provides specific areas of muscle support with a view to increasing blood flow, which enhances oxygen delivery to the muscles, which in turn leads to greater endurance and faster recovery.

Skins’ laser body mapping system assesses 400 key fitting points, so that Memory MX stretch panels can be stitched into the G400 garments at the exact areas where golfers need the support most.

“Golf represented a major challenge for us as we needed to combine dynamic gradient compression with the specific technical and physical needs of golf and a golfer,” says David Ling, general manger for Skins in the UK, which has become a PGA official supplier. “The sport requires a unique combination of endurance, stability, flexibility and explosive power. Also, to be able to repeat a swing with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy, you need consistent levels of strength and fitness. This is where G400 can not only maintain, but really raise your game.”
