Glenmuir leads Ryder Cup ranking
Glenmuir has extended its Ryder Cup association to become ‘Lead Vendor’ at Celtic Manor in October, to embellish its existing role as a ‘Preferred Supplier’. As well as providing the European Team with golf shirts and sweaters, Glenmuir will now have the “dominant presence” in the Merchandise Pavilion.
Apollo appoints Sigma
Gloucester-based Sigma Golf has been appointed distributor for Apollo shafts. Apollo specialises in producing steel and graphite shafts at “value pricing”.
Standel Dawman buys Greenhill
Engineering firm Standel Dawman has bought British electric trolley manufacturer Greenhill. Lancashire-based Standel Dawman has designed and manufactured trolley parts for over 30 years, and previously supplied Greenhill. Former Greenhill MD Jim Knott is staying with the brand in a sales and marketing capacity.
FlightScope lands in Dubai
FlightScope ball-flight and launch monitors were used at the recent Dubai World Championship to provide broadcast data on drives from the 18th tee on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Data taken from the tee at the par-three 17th was also displayed to spectators on a giant screen.
