According to Callaway, compared to the original Diablo driver, the company has also reduced the drag of the Diablo Edge during the downswing by 8%. This has been achieved by moving more of the weight further back in the clubhead, by constructing the clubhead in a lightweight, ultra-thin titanium, and replacing the weight with a weight chip at the back of the clubhead. The result should be the highest MOI of any Callaway driver.
Southbound sweetspot
Callaway claims it has found a way to offer greater forgiveness in its Diablo Edge irons. The company says the centre of gravity in the cavity-back clubs has been moved 50% lower in the clubhead, and 17% deeper, which should bring the sweetspot down to the lower reaches of the clubface. Callaway is also offering hybrid replacements from the 6-iron up.
