Now owned Worldwide by Worldwide Golf Brands, owners of Ram license for Europe, and combining tour-proven innovation and performance with true value for customers, Stuburt continues to build momentum across the globe as the new benchmark of excellence for technical performance golf wear.
Apparel collection
As the World’s fastest growing golf shoe and rainwear company, Stuburt’s reputation still continues to grow and 2010 sees the extension of the brands technical performance golf wear collection with its first comprehensive apparel collection for SS10.
The clothing follows on from the extremely successful collection of Stuburt highly technical waterproofs and Stuburt’s limited Autumn/Winter 09 collection of base layers and outerwear garments.
Utilising the most-advanced fashions, fabrics and technologies, Stuburt aims to replicate the success they have enjoyed in the shoe and rainwear markets, within the apparel market.
Graeme Stevens, Managing Director, commented: “Our new investors had a wealth of expertise within clothing so that was part of our motivation to help move the Stuburt brand forward.“
The SS10 collection will see a complete range of stylish and technical sportswear for the modern golfer. From polos and sweaters to V-neck crews and highly innovative base layers and outerwear – the new Stuburt collection embraces the latest fabrics and fashions for today’s golfer.
Stevens added: “We are around 20% up year-on-year on 2008 with Stuburt, which is fantastic compared to the industry average of little, if any growth. This is not just due to the extension into clothing but also how well we are doing on the continent.”
The new apparel collection will be showcased alongside its award-winning footwear and rainwear at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show, Orlando, in January, where Stuburt has a prominent presence.
Stepping up their game
With Stuburt recently unveiling their new line-up of shoes for SS10 and also a range of performance golf wear, Graeme and his design team were keen to ensure any new product measured up to the highest possible industry standards.
As part of Stuburt’s ongoing commitment to improve the quality and consistency of its products and manufacturing processes, the golf wear brand joined up the world’s leading research and technology centre, SATRA, on its latest collections.
Graeme said: “We have worked really closely with SATRA over the past six months to make sure our quality going forward is second to none. SATRA put our products through the most rigorous testing in the industry, for factors such as waterproofing, comfort and flexibility.”
Recognised and respected in over 70 countries, SATRA are the leading authority on international legislation and testing for footwear and clothing. Their test methods quite often become industry standard and as experts in the fields of product testing for both footwear and clothing were the perfect partner for Stuburt.
2010 collection
For 2010 the British footwear experts have extended their footwear collection with new styles to suit all tastes and all budgets featuring the latest performance, comfort and design technologies.
Competitive golfers will appreciate the traditional design, sophistication and craftsmanship of the DCC Classics (RRP £179.99). Designed in conjunction with European Tour star, Darren Clarke, the shoes remain one of the only handmade classic golf shoes on the market today.
“We have been inundated with requests for the DCC Classics from the Tour all the way down to the high street. With other brands pulling out of this market, we remain one of the only manufacturers of traditional classic golf shoes and have picked up market share as a result” a delighted Stevens added.
Meanwhile, the new Helium Tour shoes take over from the much-coveted Helium Pro shoes and combine Stuburt’s tour proven success with added features and new improvements to produce the most technical performance golf shoe the brand has ever produced (RRP £89.99). Other additions include the Helium Comfort and Oxy Lite shoes both loaded with features like Stuburt’s Dri-Back bootie membrane system but without the price tag to match.
Worldwide view
As well as selling strongly throughout Europe, Stuburt is now strong on the continent.
Stuburt is thriving in the rest of the world too and is part of the plans to become a truly global brand.
Stevens said: “We already have great coverage in Europe and areas such as South Korea, South Africa and Canada but now look to the USA, Australia and also the Far East markets as our priorities”.
Stuburt has always had an association with golf at the highest level and over the years has teamed up with some of golf’s most famous names and rising stars including Darren Clarke, David Howell, Peter Lawrie and Trish Johnson to name but a few.
2010 is no different and will see some familiar faces as well as new faces joining Team Stuburt on tour as the brand remains one of the hottest properties in golf and continues to stride forward.
