Srixon has found the room to enlarge the ball's core by making the cover slightly thinner, which is made from what Srixon describes as a blend of ‘highly resilient and soft Rabalon HR and Pana-Tetra'.
The ball's 333-dimple pattern has also been modified. The ball features six different dimple sizes, and collectively the dimples now cover more of the ball's surface area, with a view to reducing high-speed drag for a true, penetrating flight and a shallow landing angle for greater carry and roll.
The AD333 is a ball conceived for golfers of all abilities, although Srixon specifies that the technology is ideal for golfers with swing speeds of 80mph and higher.
The AD333 balls come with an RRP of £25.99 per dozen, and Srixon will have high expectations for the improved ball. According to the Sports Marketing Surveys Retail Audit, January 2007 to June 2009, the AD333 was the best-selling two-piece golf ball in the UK.
