Located in idyllic Italian countryside in Pozzolengo, near Lake Garda and with a backdrop of the Moreniche Hills, San Vigilio has been built in the grounds of the Benedictine San Vigilio Abbey, which dates back to the beginning of the 12th century. Mass is still held in the abbey every week.
The new resort is billed as ‘a magnificent golfing paradise', boasting 27 holes that are divided into a trio of championship-calibre nines. The 27 holes were designed by German architect Kurt Rossknecht and they cover an area of 110 hectares. The resort also has residential properties, a hotel and spa.
Nearby, there is a cluster of 10 other courses for visiting golfers to play.
