Ryder Cup waters European grass roots
Published:  14 May, 2009

The Ryder Cup European Development Trust has agreed to support a European Tour initiative to provide free coaching to members of the public at tournaments this year.

Up to 10 PGAs will be offering free golf lessons funded by Ryder Cup profits, which will be operated by Provision Golf.

Large, inflatable practice nets will be erected at the heart of tournament villages and PGA professionals from the host country will provide 10-minute, video-backed lessons to individuals of any age and level of experience.

The clinics will be in evidence at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth (May 21-24) and the tournaments at two forthcoming Ryder Cup venues, Celtic Manor (June 4-7) and Gleneagles (Aug 27-30).
