Orka plays it short
Published:  27 April, 2009

Orka Golf is establishing itself as hardware custom-fit specialists, and from April the company's offering will extend to putters with the launch of its SGS (Short Game Specialists) ‘boutique brand'.

SGS is entering the competitive putters market with two models initially, the P46 DBA Type #1 and Type #2. Both putters - which only differ from each other at the hosel - are classic by nature, both in terms of shape and construction. They have a traditional blade putter-head, and bucking the trend of many contemporary, multi-material putters, these SGS debut models are precision milled from a single block of 303 Stainless steel.

The putter faces come with horizontal grooves, with a view to maximising the forward roll of putts from impact, and they have an anti-glare finish.

Orka describes the P46 DBA putter as ‘limited edition', and with them being manufactured in lots of 100, each putter is numbered, such as ‘1 of 100 1E', with the ‘1E' standing for ‘1st Edition'.

A Type #3 mallet model with interchangeable weights is set to follow in May, and like all Orka clubs, the putters will be available to golfers via the brand's network of approved fitting centres around the UK.
