MD Golf
Seve Icon range
Making its Orlando debut in 2010, MD Golf saw the PGA Show as the opportunity to launch the brand worldwide. “Our goal is to plant an MD Golf flag in every major golf market around the globe,” says managing director Michael Morton. “We believe the results of this show will move us dramatically forward on this path.” Central to the MD Golf product offering for 2010 is the complete Seve Icon range, teeing off with the High MOI driver. The 460cc, titanium driver has its clubhead weight concentrated around the perimeter of the clubface with a view to producing the high MOI, and therefore greater stability at impact. With lofts of 9.5°, 10.5° and 12°, the Seve Icon driver is fitted with a Proforce 65 shaft and UST Multi-compound grip.

Available in multiple lofts, the CG15s come in Chrome, Black Pearl and Oil Quench finishes.

Rife
Island Series
The timing for Rife could not have been better. The company had barely dismantled its stand at the PGA Show, having introduced the new Island Series of putters to the trade, when Ian Poulter delivered the putting performance of his life at the Accenture Match Play, playing with the Island Series Aruba. And bear in mind that this is a putter the Englishman plays out of choice, not contract. Poulter’s victory is the first on Tour for the Aruba, which is due for retail delivery worldwide in the spring. The Aruba is Rife’s interpretation of Ping’s classic Anser, featuring an understated vertical alignment notch and Rife’s patented Rollgroove face technology, which is designed to set the ball on a forward roll quicker than other putter faces.

Powerbilt
Air Foil
Powerbilt is set to return to the UK market in Spring 2010 with its distinctive Air Foil driver (better known as ‘Air Force One’ in the US). As opposed to the variety of structural clubface supports built into drivers, Powerbilt supports the face of the Air Foil with pressurised nitrogen inside the clubhead, to the tune of 110psi. Powerbilt says the support from the pressurised nitrogen enables the clubface to be thinner than in other drivers, with a view to compressing the clubface at impact to gain maximum COR, and hence, shot distance. The Air Foil has been approved by the USGA and is awaiting approval from the R&A. RRP: TBC
