Q'aja heads to Sunderland
Published:  10 December, 2008

Niche golf clothing designer Tony Q'aja is taking his distinctive designs to the mainstream by forming Q'aja Golf in collaboration with Sunderland Golf. The man responsible for many of Darren Clarke's more eye-catching outfits, Q'aja has entered into a 50-50 joint venture to bring his flair together with the heritage and market strength of Sunderland.

"This is a partnership founded on one shared belief: we love the game of golf," says Brian Mair, Sunderland's sales and marketing director. "We share a heritage in golf tailoring that combines style with quality, performance with comfort and have a proven track record in designing for golfers who like to look good, both on and off the course."

Sunderland is also hoping to capitalise on the successful launch of its new UV Sunwear Range at Golf Europe in Munich, which offers 50+ UV protection. Sunwear forms one corner of Sunderland's new ‘x4 Protection' concept, which also incorporates Rainwear, Windwear and Coldwear.
