Golf Foundation makes impression
The government's School Sport Survey shows that 38% of schools offered some sort of golf activity in 2007/08. The figure was 31% in 2006/07 and 23% in 2005/06. In four years the figure has doubled from 19% to 38%, and much credit for this rise must go to the Golf Foundation's development work.
Abacus bags Brewerton
Welsh Solheim Cup golfer Becky Brewerton (pictured) has signed a clothing contract with Swedish brand Abacus until the end of 2009. Abacus will also be dressing the European Solheim Cup team in 2009, as they did in 2007.

Srixon and Cleveland fit into Maidenhead
Contrary to reports that Srixon and Cleveland will be establishing their new custom fitting centre in Basingstoke, SGB Golf can confirm that the facility is scheduled to open at the Maidenhead Golf Centre on January 1, 2009.
Consumer titles see-saw
According to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures, Today's Golfer (86,428, published by Bauer) has resumed its place as top-selling UK golf consumer title, ahead of Golf Monthly (82,264, published by IPC Media).
