As chief executive Ian Randell writes in his summary: "Our efforts at all times will continue to be to implement services around the seven categories of our strategy... Membership, Education, External Relations, Communication, Commercial, Events and Golf Development."
In so doing, under the publication's title of ‘Working Together', the president, Ken Schofield, wrote of "another 12 months of progress by the PGAs of Europe in fostering an ever stronger sense of togetherness among what seems to me to be a genuine ‘family' of PGAs in Europe and beyond."
Each of the Association's activities are recorded in the 24-page, illustrated document, including the Ryder Cup European Development Trust, about which it points out: "Grass root programmes for juniors, the disabled and other worthy causes have been approved in six different countries for support ... with several more schemes currently under consideration."
The informative publication is supported by Golf Europe, Europe's No.1 trade show. The report states: "when times are tough many strategists take the view that this is the time to be more active than ever in the market place, to be selective and diligent in wholesale and retail matters, to get out there and be sure to offer the best that's available."
On the politically-important subject of External Relations, the report says: "An increasingly crucial issue for golf at all levels is the forging of sound relationships with the EU, in order to ensure the sport benefits from a well-informed decision-making process whenever relevant legislation is put into place."
