Fitting addition for Acushnet
Published:  20 September, 2008

Acushnet has opened two National Fitting Centres in Scotland and Ireland, at Kings Acre Golf Club in Edinburgh and at the GUI Academy at Carton House in County Kildare.

The Titleist and Cobra facilities complement the existing fitting centre at Brampton Park GC, Cambridge, and Acushnet claims they have been established due to growing demand from golfers for custom fit equipment: over the past five years the company says demand in the UK has risen by 35%, and by 150% in Ireland. To take advantage of the fitting centres, golfers will have to make appointments through their local Titleist/Cobra stocked pro. Golfers will be put through a 90-minute game analysis session incorporating launch monitor technology, so the Acushnet technicians can establish the exact ‘set composition' for their individual game.

"The introduction of the new centres underlines our commitment to custom fitting and complements our network of PGA qualified Titleist Fitting Works and Cobra ‘Fit to Speed' partners," says Ken Graham, Titleist sales director. "Given the demand we have seen for custom fitted clubs in recent years, we are confident the new centres will be as popular and successful as the fitting centre at Brampton, whilst helping golfers of all abilities to significantly improve their game."
