Hi-Tec puts on ion-mask
Published:  15 August, 2008

Hi-Tec is utilising ion-mask technology in its golf collection for 2009, a patented plasma-based technology originally developed for military use, to protect soldiers from chemical attack.

Developed with technology experts P2i Ltd, Hi-Tec claims the ion-mask works at a molecular level by binding polymers to individual fabric fibres. The result is a repellent surface, forcing water and other liquids to bead and run off shoes.

The ion-mask is designed to keep shoes dry no matter how wet the conditions and it is also capable of repelling dirt, while the waterproof shoes remain breathable and lightweight. Ion-mask will feature in six Hi-Tec models for 2009, including the Pure Power I, with an SRP of £99.99.
