"It was fantastic to see how our players kept their Abacus rain jackets on, while the opposition played in sweaters, sheltered under umbrellas," recalls Sven-Olof Karlsson, managing director of Abacus. "This is exactly why our rain jackets were so much appreciated by the players."
When the Solheim Cup is played at Rich Harvest farms in Chicago next year it will serve as an introduction for Abacus to the American market, and European captain Alison Nicholas has been involved in planning the new tournament collection.
"I want to create an environment that makes it possible for the players to perform their absolute best and hopefully to win," says Nicholas. "The clothes are an important ingredient in the recipe for success. Abacus did a splendid job last time and the clothes worked extremely well.
"Obviously the most important thing is that the clothes work, that they are comfortable and well fitting, but don't under-estimate the importance of the garments being so good looking. If you look good you feel good!"
