Summit talks for heads of training
Published:  15 August, 2008

As education with all its allied strands continues to evolve, and with new legislation taking its effect, the PGAs of Europe is staging a Heads of Training Summit (HTS), in Lisbon, Portugal, on October 29-30, 2008.

All member PGAs will be invited to send representatives for the two-day conference, that will be packed with relevant information on this most crucial of topics for PGA professionals.

Tony Bennett, the Director of Education (pictured), explained:

"The introduction of coach licensing, national recognition, transfer of qualifications and freedom of movement are all important subjects to be debated.

"The HTS will be an opportunity to discover best practice and for members to learn from each other. Keynote speakers on a variety of relevant subjects will address the summit, and there will be an opportunity to debate and take part in smaller break-out group sessions, when over-arching topics will be considered from a regional perspective.

"Findings of the summit will be considered and will help to guide future PGAs of Europe education policies," he added."During 2007 our chief executive, Ian Randell, commenced an exercise in gathering data and opinions, and increasing dialogue with member countries on all our behalf. The information gained from this, along with discussions at various meetings, is proving extremely helpful.
