SkyCaddie GPS
Published:  15 August, 2008

SkyCaddie SG5 rangefinders, incorporating SkyGolf's patented IntelliGreen technology, were used by BBC commentators at Royal Birkdale during the 2008 Open Championship.

IntelliGreen enables golfers to measure the full depth and shape of a green from any approach angle, in addition to displaying distances to all targets and hazards on a golf course.

The SG5s, which had previously been utilised by the Golf Channel on the LPGA Tour, were used by the BBC's on-course commentators so they could instantly gauge distances on the course for commentary and also to give the broadcaster comprehensive player-by-player performances statistics.

Skycaddie claims to produce the most accurate GPS systems in golf, as all course distances have been verified on foot by professional course mappers. "Because every single course that can be downloaded onto a SkyCaddie has been physically mapped by us, the accuracy is unrivalled," says SkyCaddie Europe's Jackie Hitchcock.
